It's not yours.
Do what you want but I couldn't keep it.
Regardless, I emailed them and offered to send them back only if they send me a single c414 first so I don't lose any recording time. We'll see what they say
.
You didn't pay for them and should most definitely not be using them.

I most certainly did pay for one of them and will use one of them. The other is still in it's plastic. If I had ordered from another seller who was only slightly more due to shipping costs, I would likely have received the correct order and be using it immediately. I am not going to sacrifice my limited recording time for a sellers mistake.

They will receive the mics back but cetainly not at the expense of my time or money.

You should pack it up and ship it back immediately without using either mic. How can he sell in good faith to the next customer after it's been used?
What is so important that you can't wait a few weeks for the right mic?

OPen a dispute on PayPal if you're worried you will lose somehow....

Music is so important.

I do reasonably well for myself in business. Having said that, I understand that with mistakes come penalties. If our organization made a similar mistake I would expect a similar consequence. To be honest with you, I wouldn't expect the client to advise us at all.

Time is money. Especially when you do what I do daily and have limited time to make your true dream come true.

Regardless of your or my opinion, one of the mics has already been opened and I must say that I love the sound of the c414 xlii on my vocals and my Taylor acoustic.

Well don't let your conscience get in the way of making your dreams come true....:D

My conscience got in the way of whether I would or would not return the mics. My conscience was not needed at all in this decision.

Imagine how refreshing it would be to have a client that didn't stiff you on a mistake that you made....

Check your account possibly you have been charged for a pair?

"Erm, Don't judge others...or....you might get judged too!"

"What??!??"

A while back (15 years ago?), my parents bought a midi keyboard from a catalog. The place shipped them two. They called the place and shipped one back. Then the place gave them a refund. They called them again, and paid again. The place shipped them another keyboard. They shipped it back, and got another refund. They finally gave up. They tried to pay for it, but they couldn't.

I don't think the OP is completely wrong to use what was shipped to him, but I probably wouldn't until I heard from the seller. If there any issues, it would be easier to argue with an unopened product.

I hope the listing said no returns... If they say no returns, can they demand one?

I remember reading once that putting "no returns" in your listing doesn't mean anything.

When you list on ebay, you enter into an agreement, and that agreement states that the buyer is entitled to return and a refund if the item if it arrives in any condition other than described.

People post broken stuff for spares or repairs with no returns, but you can totally return it if it arrives more broken than described.

Well what happened with your parents is different because they tried multiple times to return it ;)

I think it's pretty dishonest to go ahead and open the pack without hearing anything from the seller. The excuse "Well it's their mistake so I'm gonna open it!" is pretty childish too...people make mistakes. Welcome to life lol.
