i'm hoping it's a user error..

but i think it's a screwed up mic..

(on another note, why's the mic clip so lose? it keeps falling down)

Just pull-off the two little round plastic caps covering the bolt on the swivel part of the clip and tighten the bolt.

mr.hyatt,

can i still get my mic checked, just the mic?

Don't worry about it... PMI has a great costumer service dept and they'll take care of you... and the plastic clip cap was junk to begin with... just email PMI.

You and about everyone else who owns one. I just took mine off and threw them away. Like DJL said, don't sweat it. If it's broke, they'll fix it!

Return the mic and try another one. There is something wrong. Your voice volume should not clip any decent mic. The crappy clip might be an indicator of overall quality of the mic too.

I am not sure I agree with the comment implying that the bad clip is an indication of a poor mic.

I love my 421's but those clips suck ass.

That's for sure... and I threw my little round plastic covers away too. :)

When I took off the covers from my clips, I left the off so that I could re-tension them easily if needed. I've got four of them that I don't need; PM me if you want one and I'll put it in the mail this weekend.

By the way - I have a pair of SP B-1's and i LOVE them!

i love my B1 as well

and there's NO WAY a shitty piece of plastic on the mic clip could ever be indicative of the quality of the mic. either throw out the plasic nub or get a shock mount.

the B1 rocks, nuff said. I need to pick up a couple more, so if anyone's got any they're looking to unload......
