I just bought a Jay Turser Tele.

Hmmm, my '72 weighed a ton, for a Fender anyway. Maybe that's why it didn't have the usual telecaster bite to it.
 
I hold Jay Tursers as excellent bang for the buck guitars. Real wood, solid parts. I have a Turser 7 string. Bought it because I could not justify the cost of the big name 7 strings... considering I had no clue I would actually enjoy the extra string.

The only complain I have with Turser, and this holds for all the models I tried... the pots (tone and volumn) are not so much pots, but more on/off switches. Any attempt to modify volumn results in radical silence. No biggie to switch out. Turser.... good nab for the buck

Yeah, I know what you mean. This one has a pretty volume, but the tone is kind of on/off.
