I have many questioned i need answered

Well. I've been recording for a while but now im just ticked off.

when i bought my original equipment, my father insisted he set it up, and that i had no clue what i was doing (like he did?)
he quickly figured out, he had no clue what to do.

So.
Here is exactly what I am running.

E-Mu 1212m dual audio card with ADAT optical.
Behringer ultragain pro-8 digital ad/da converter

that is then run into the digital mixer that came with the card.
if you open the mixer and go to options, the only imput or output for that matter that it lets me select is I/O Card 1L/1R.

the store i bought this stuff from told me this was a good set up because I can send each of those imputs on the ad/da to different tracks in my recording software. (i use cooledit)

can anyone tell me EXACTLY how this can happen?
The way it is currently set up, its not working. I cant get it to show all 8 as different imputs.

when you try to select the imput, its only source is 'E-DSP Wave (CC00)'

can anyone tell me exactly how to put everything together to get each imput from that ad/da to go to a different track in cooledit?

also, would it be possible to run the imputs to that ad/da, and then output them to an analog mixer, and from there run that into my computer

Now by you saying you run a E-Mu 1212m dual audio card..does this mean you have 2 of them?

No....i mean that i have the emu 1010 pci card
and the emu 0202 i/o daughter card

I'm confused on how you thought "imput" was actually a word, considering you used it next to the word "output".... didn't something look even remotely wrong?

Anyways, the word you're looking for is INput...... as in "putting a signal IN"
