i have a question

so....im guna be recording with 2 behringer ub1202's, one running into the other, then both running out to a zoom mrs-8, in stereo. ok, say i bought myself a 4 channel compressor, and a 4 channel reverb, how could i add compression and reverb to 4 different tracks, (each with its own perameters)..? Is there anything else id have to buy other than cables? And is this even possible at all?

Doesn't the mrs-8 have built-in effects? I think you tried running before learning to walk. I would just get the basic concepts of recording down using the mrs-8.

How many actual sources are you trying to record at one time with the MR-8?

There are a number of ways to do what you outlined, but it's not yet clear which is best.

let me try to clear things up a little...

alright...my original intention was to buy another ub1202 so i can add 4 more mic preamps. So i was going to run 4 mics into the first, then the master out to a second ub1202 that also has 4 mics in it. Then from that second ub1202, i was going to run the master out to the mrs-8 in stereo. I would be able to use 8 mics at a time, pan them all, and run them out in stereo. I just wanted to know if there was anyway that i could compress each channel differently or not. I figured this would be the cheapest set up for me that seemed to work in my mind seeing as i already own 1 ub1202. If anyone has anyother suggestions, please let me know. But keep in mind, im pretty poor.
 
hmmm....making my question a little simpiler....i was just wondering if i would plug the mic into the compressor then to the mixer, or if i would have to do it someother way.

This has been answered many times in these forums - do a search, it is your friend.

There are a number of different combinations, but in general, you want to compress first.

Look it up! There are many good opinions in there!
 
yea actually i read one yesterday about compression before eq and i it more or less answered what i was thinkin. I think ill run compression first, and then use minimal eq to make sure i dont really cancel my compression. As long as it sounds good in the end.
