Thanks Robin for the ears and nice words......I do prefer an amp anytime, but for demos the J-station has proved itself over and over, and no time consumed haggling with mics and placement.Having said that, the tweeds are getting mic'ed soon!

Thanks Danny for the kind words....

you covered alot of ground on styles...sounded great.

i got the thought while listening that your time spent with tube amps may have helped develop your ear to get that good of a sound from the V-amp?
Did you use presets or use your homegrown sounds?

look forward to your amp posts too.

I been reading tube amp books from the old days up to 1966, the second harmonic tubes create, octave off, is what people like to hear for some unknown reason. these beautiful harmonics and tubes burning all the electrons off and all that sweet sound to the ears...its a warm sound if kept in good condition and a good speaker and a good player..and....

the tubes and distortions and harmonics didn't work so well in the dashboards of airplanes though! at 17,000 feet and 500mph the precision of digital is a bit better per the pilots. :p

yeah if I was jamming with some bud's it'd be great to roll the tube amp out...but for recording, I'll be damned if I can tell which is which thru the MP3 and headphones.

Vamp is a bit less expensive than a 57 tube amp too...a tiny bit cheaper :p

smooth playing, thanks for the post.

Thanks COOLCAT...!!
I just use my ears---it's amazing what the J-Station will do with certain guitars/pups,and a little tweakage.I basically took the presets and changed a few things.Still not the same as a cranked amp,but for direct inject it does pretty good.

Van Ford, I like your BossOfNova a lot. You are very talented, and your recording sounds good to me. Perhaps it would sound better with direct miking of the amp, but I am also sympathetic to what I also perceive as the "technical challenge" to do that well. Yours, EveningSky
