I've got a few more songs if anyone would be interested in hearing. Don't listen to Relieve me though, because that is going to be on the comp CD. You can listen to the other ones though. Let me know what you think. I had a lot of fun doing them. I was in this weird mood where I wanted to record all the time for the past month, so I thought I better take advantage of it, because it doesn't seem to last for me, so I recorded a bunch more. Here's the website, and thanks: http://www.mp3.com/rtf

Downloaded the three I hadn't heard..I liked Hillcrest Motel, but it had a different sound than you usually have...it sorta droned a bit...the harmonies were outtasite tho..."Mattie's Eyes" was cute and kinda catchy...there's not a lot of songs about babies out there...lol..."Lotus Leaves" had a nice feel to it....
You have a lot of up beat optimism in yer stuff...which is different from a lot of music..however I'm pretty spoiled by "Relieve Me"....that's the coolest one for me by far....gibs

Oh PS...the reverb in the instrumental "Lotus" worked really well to give a "water falling sound", and it was cool, but maybe could be used sparingly in the rest of the song...it worked great right at the start to set a mood.......

Loved the tunes. You write some pretty moody sounding stuff. I like that! Great job, man.

For once I disagree with gibs! I like the reverb on "Lotus...".

I felt like the drums on both "Hillcrest..." and "Mattie's..." could use just a little boost...not too much; afterall, you wouldn't want to turn it into a dance tune.

Very good job though. Very well done.

Once again AWESOME bobbo!!!

I d/l Mattie's Eyes and Hillcrest Motel and thought they were very cool.

You should also have Blackbag and Prodigal Son on your mp3.com site.

I really am impressed with the quality of the vocals. I think you have a really cool unique voice - if you haven't described your set up elsewhere, could let me know what you are using to capture you vocals?

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I sort of felt like lotus leaves maybe had a little too much reverb as well gibs, actually sometimes I like the reverb and sometimes I don't. Its wierd. The bad thing is is that I can't change it because I recorded it straight to the computer with the effects (something I should be careful about, I usually like to go back out of the soundcard and through the mixer for panning and effects).
Cooperman, I am using an akg c3000 mic through a behringer mixer, with a lexicon mpx 100 effects unit using some reverb and sometimes a little flange, and an rnc compressor (one of those little ones) and a midiman delta 1010 soundcard. For some reason, I really like to do like 8 or 10 tracks of vocals and just sing over them. I guess because I've never been able to, but its really fun (except when those cats of ours start wanting to get into my cardboard isolation chamber, I did use one of their vocals on a remix of blackbag though, now he always wants to try and join in). I gotta tell you though, that matties eyes one was really fun to record, I had a blast. I hate dancing, I really do, but I found myself doing this strange "sprockets" type dance (like that guy on saturday night live a few years ago who played that german character Deter on sprockets, that fake talkshow)
Thanks again for the comments.

I was most taken with Lotus Leaves. As for that reverb, I liked it but felt that it needed some contrast as you had (at least) two guitar lines going and they could've been recorded with an overall sound that made them each somewhat more distinguishable from each other, other than the left/ right information.
And I liked your picture with the meowler.
Was the other one hiding?

That's good stuff. I'm partial to the lotus leaves thing to. Your one tasteful guitar player.

BTW, the carpet on your floor is identical to the carpeting I put on the walls in here.. strange..

Great music.

Me like-em all bobbo, very good work! relive me is my fav so far!

Everyone who goes into my basement comments on the carpet. My family used to have a smalll cabin on a lake that had the same carpet back in the 1970's. Thats the first thing I noticed when I was looking at this place to buy. You can never tell if its dirty or not, hehe.
I couldn't get the other cat to partake in the photo's. Clicking the camera for self timer, then grab the cats, then sit down, all within a few seconds was too tough. I tried though, but only could catch one of the little critters. I'll get him someday though.
Thanks for the comments and all. I think after work today I am going to try and see what I can do with Lotus and the guitars sounds, just experiment and see what I come up with. So thanks for helping me with all the comments.
