Hi! I need some comments about my cover on "I Don't Need No Doctor" by John Mayer/Ray Charles
The guitar parts and vocals were made by me but the bass guitar and the drums is a backing track I got from the internet. So here it is:

Guitar and vocals are fine by me.

However they do seem a bit disconnected from the backing track.

I think you could safely drop levels of guitar and vocals to let the backing track push things along more.

Well played and sung.

The vocal sounds behind the guitar. It's a bit wet and the guitar is rather dry.

I thought the guitar tone was kind of cool. Lots of energy in the 500-1K octave, which can sometimes sound "cheap". But I think it worked well here.

I think the bass could probably be compressed a little harder and brought up in the mix.

edit - heard something weird around 2:47. Like an edit or something. Or maybe it's on a track. I little "whump" right there.

It's nicely played, and I really like the quality of your voice. It's got a good laid-back vibe.

There are a couple of off-pitch moments in the singing that could be fixed (e.g. 1:50, 3:20). How did you record the guitar? I wish it had some more grit - like a bit of distortion, and a real amp sound (it sort of sounds like it went directly into the audio interface).

Thank you for the comment! :) I'll keep that in mind! Thank you so much!

Thank you! :) I used samson C01 condenser microphone and aimed it at my practice behringer amplifier (Cheap Equipments, huh? Lol)
