I don't know where to put this...

No, you print on a sheet of CD label maker paper. A popular brand is Avery...Then you peel off the paper and stick it to the CD with a "Stomper". But cheap paper can make the CD's get stuck in people's car CD players. That's one of the reasons the paper quality is very important.

I'm off to the LPC thread to ask them about their insert

Cool man, if you're not back in half an hour, I'll send out an APB and a team of dogs...Let me know what they say. :p :p :p

Yes - I was worried about the "stomper" type labels. I've read that bad labels can get stuck or cause skipping. So the Avery type is not bad? I can pick them up at Staples or Future shop for about 30 bucks.

I never had problems with them. But I once tried to save money by buying "Office Depot" ones and now I'm stuck listening to AM radio in my car and lost 3 friends. So don't do that.

Yeah that's it. Just make sure that when you buy it, it says "ink jet" or "laser", depending on what you use. Also, there is "white matte" or "white glossy"...There is also "transparent". So, make sure you get the right one because they all look the same when you're just looking at a shelf full of boxes trying to figure out what the diff is.

Thanx for all the help (almost) everyone. I'll remember that next time I'm in a position to do all I can to help someone else out.......

Like I've done in the past.

 Pardon? :D

Whatever you choose Rami the music on the disk is gunna be mint and thats more important than the cover even though i realise why a good cover is important for you.
The best thing to do is to print off the differnt ideas you have and actually put them in a CD case and then decide?

Good Luck!

Thanx Breeeza...I printed both and like them both. I have a soft spot for the first one, especially with cartoon type colors, even though most people seemed to like the Black and White better. But I can use the kid any other time. Seems to me the title begs for "The Thinker"...Like you said, it's the music that counts, so I think I'll move on for now. I'm going with the thinker. I'm going to probably post the back cover when I get around to it just so you guys can see that. Thanx for all your help (those of you who actually helped).

OK, I think we've got it. I am going with the one I just uploaded. It's the only one I let Rhonda do by herself without me sticking my nose in it and suggesting things. This is why it turned out ok. Other than music, my artistic sense is worthless. This is what she came up with by herself. I love it, personally. Let me know what you think. I'll put up the back cover soon. www.ramirami.com

Me likey. I personally wouldnt put the www thingy on the front.

Its a lot more pro looking. A few things:

1, What is the resolution on this?

2, Are those images royalty free?

If its a low resolution it wont print good, it will be fuzzy. Photos taken off the net will be lo-res unless you buy a stock photo. I learned this the hard way with mine, I made my own cover but it wasnt a high enough resolution. They couldnt use it and we paid a pro.

Its good, I think you are about there.

Thanx David....Well the main shot is me doing "the thinker". It was taken with her digital camera, which is good but I don't know how good. I'll have to ask. The "pictures' in the bubbles are off the net. We deliberately took drawings as opposed pictures, so that if they lose resolution, it won't be as notieable...Hopefully. Also, they came from Google searches for key words like "pot Leaf" and didn't have any links to sites. So, as far as I know, there was no copyright notification on them. I'm no lawyer so I don't know if that makes them legal to take or not. But I only wish that my CD becomes popular enough that I get sued..:D :D :D

I won't be printing them on my little home printer. I'm looking into sending the pictures to a company that will put them on good quality glossy paper. I hope that makes them look as pro as possible. It's the first time I go through this process, so I'm sure I'll be making a few more mistakes along the way.

We're...Actually...She is now working on the back and I'm keeping my un-artistic ass out of that one too. :)

I'm no lawyer so I don't know if that makes them legal to take.

They are not. I really wouldnt lose a lot of sleep over it. You can alter them somewhat and chances are nobody will recognize them. You CAN get sued but I'm with you: if your sales are good enough that someone is suing, it means you are on to something pretty good.

Hey Ramster I really liked the new cover.

Btw are you naked in that shot??? :D

Thanx Nak...If it affects whether you'll buy the CD or not, I'll tell you what you want to hear about me being naked. :D :D

(Don't worry bro...I'll send you one free either way. You're one of the people here who have helped me with my music immensely)

Put it this way...You see the leg of the stool??? That ain't no leg of a stool. :D:D :D

Cool That's good to know. They have been altered. Either the color, or getting rid of the background, etc...I'm not too worried about that.

By the way, she's taking off the www thing. You're 100% right. It doesn't belong there. Thanx a million for your insite. :)

Yikes man

You know we have faint hearted people reading your posts "pointing at Ze weasel :D

Ah, I already forgot about the Weisel. I guess the mods finally did their job without me pretending I was going to leave. I'm sure the Weisel will be back in a few days or weeks, from another computer...Claiming SHE de-activated her account on purpose
. You ever notice that Weisel never tells anyone where to buy her so-called "CD". I even guaranteed I'd but a copy. I miss the Wesel already...She always keeps my threads at the top of the page. :D :D :D :D
