hello everyone. i am not new to recording by any means but i am a newbie to reason and midi and sequencing by all means. i have reason and i can get sound out of re drum and dr rex but i cannot figure out how to get sound out of either of the subtractors or the nn-19.
the only way to get them to do anything is if i record a beat with the re drum than drag that audio into either the subtractor or nn-19,s track. when i do this i will get sound but i have no control over the notes and when they are played. when i do this it sounds like a scale, but it at least proves to me that everything is routed and working. in order to play the subtractors or nn-19 do i need some type of midi controller like the m-audio oxygen or ozone or something like this? i would like to be able to play them like a piano. clicking the little piano keys in the display of the subtractors or nn-19 does nothing. can someone please guide me in the right direction? thanks!

This is covered in Reasons PDF user manual homie...

Click the folder by the name display on either piece of equipment, click the button that says "Find all" and then load whatever instrument you want.

the version of reason i have came in a free bundle pack with pro tools le and there is no pdf user guide.
