i just downloaded the guitar tracks pro 3 demo and i cant get any sound to go through it. im still able to use cubasis vst, which is what ive been using for a while now, without any problem.

i started guitar tracks, armed track 1 for recording (the red 'R' button) and switched the inputs from the left, right, and stereo inputs with no signal from either one. there must be some simple step that im missing, but i dont know what it is. any suggestions?

I used to use Cakewalk guitar tracks 2, so maybe I can generally point you int the right direction - I don't know. I believe there's an "Audio" settings option in the drop-down menu in your menu bar...maybe the second choice from the right. It drops down and "Audio" or something..."Options" maybe should be in there. You need to make sure your card or input device is selected. Input and output, come to think of it.

yeah, i found that menu but my driver is already chosen for both input and output...it's the only choice there. i think it must be something else.... :(

Also, in the mix view near the track level metre, make sure you select the input soundcard in theat little menu that is there. Do the same for the output as well. That's down the bottom of the metre in the mix view. It's there for each track

i did that too. i selected the left input, right input, and the stereo input and neither worked.

What do you have your guitar plugged into? Guitar Pro usually won't record through the line-in input, you have to plug your guitar into the mic input on your soundcard. That may be it.

im actually using a mic which is plugged into a preamp and then into the left input on my soundcard. and even when i choose the left input on the track in guitar tracks i still cant get a signal.
