I cannot get my guitar to sound right.

I'm wanting a guitar tone like old school Fall Out Boy, Relient K, Blink 182, etc. Specifically at the beginning of Grenade Jumper by FOB. I have an Ibanez going to a Marshall code50 processor. I have an SM57 going into a Tascam us 1200 interface. Why can't I get my guitar to sound bright like they do??
 
Well for one, you're not a pro band with pro gear in a pro studio run by pro engineers using pro equipment.

With that out of the way, you're using a modeling amp. That's blah from the get go. And apparently you're miking it, so that's probably where your problem is. Mic position. Where are you pointing the mic? Google "speaker mic placement" or something similar and educate yourself on how mic position matters.
 
As you are using a modeling amp, have you tried recording direct? Post a clip of what you are hearing.
