Some one please help me. I am in a horrible position. I am trying to make a decision on first synth I should purchase. I am looking at the roland xp-30, korg n5ex, and the yamaha cs2x....I will be using this keyboard as a midi center piece with my computer and will be trying to make some good trance break music..If anyone out there has any advice I would appreciate it.
Personally, I'd go with the XP-30. Although CS2x has cool presets plus knobs, sound morphing and a ribbon controller (right?), it is not fully programmable as a synth. N5ex maybe the cheapest, but again, it's not as full featured as a synth like the XP-30. Moreover, the waveform data are compressed so that they could fit that many waveforms in there. (This means the sound quality is compromised.)
