The vocal's got an aggessive upper end frequency that you could modulate.
You know, you could put everything except the vocal on a buss, and deal with that with its own EQ etc. Why? The vocal isn't getting heard sometimes. But this tune very much needs the vocal to be heard. The thing that's crowding the vocal is the snare particularly and the drums in general, but it's also the EQ you've got on the vocal.
Last comment: the vocal needs more meat, more muscle, more balls. How do I know this? Because the outro works like a charm. But when the vocal's playing, it comes across as thin.
