Man...my hair hurts.

This is why I never learned to solder well. I'd be just as fucked as you are. Hopefully not for long in your case. I'll raise my pint to yer ambition.

Guys, I think it only right to update you all on the status of my endeavours. I hit a brick wall over the weekend with the superswitch - 24 terminals was too much to get my head around. I actually felt pretty dejected at that point as I really like my 412 Yammie. However, inspiration struck today when I came across my very first electric, also a Pacifica type (EG112), complete with a simple 5 way switch. An hour later and I was back in business, just a quick switch of the neck pickup needed to ensure everything was phase-coherrent.

So now I have a Yamaha Pacifica with a Gibson 498T in the neck and a Texas Special in the middle. I also ordered an Axesrus "Texas Blues" Single Coil for the neck, as well as some fresh pickup screws and aged covers. Nearly done with my first proper mod and have rewired two guitars this week!

Btw, The Gibson sounds great even though I've been going on about the Pacifica. I'll post clips soon.

Congrats! You know, and I may have said this earlier, I tricked out my Les Paul with coil taps and some exotic switching, which all works fine, but I never use it. I just play with the normal three selections. It was a good exercise in wiring and gratifying when it worked, but it didn't give me anything new that I could use. I think you did the right thing.

Congrats man .... welcome to the world of not paying someone else to do something that's simple enough for you to do it yourself.

I have a strat with the 'elite' type switching setup ....... I use the odd sounds all the time but then, I'm pretty strange.

Thanks guys! There can be no doubting that the superswitch is indeed awesome. It's a very clever design. I think it was just overkill in my case though. I'm going to pick up a couple of spare 5-way and 3-way switches just to take a look at how they work should the need ever arise.

The only thing I need now is a new top for my selector switch!
