I just got a PM from caryindy asking if it was too late to join in. He/she says he/she can work fast if anyone would like to work with him/her. Besides there really isn't a deadline, as I've mentioned. It's just fun. Or supposed to be at least.

Oh and Cary, please forgive my complete ignorance as to what sex the name Cary is usually given to. Good luck.

No problem, and for those who are wondering too, I was named after Cary Grant, a famous male actor. (My grandmother was a famous actress in the movie business)

So, who need's a partner? :-)

you just know that now we're all gonna be wondering who your grandmother was. So you might as well give it up now. :)

Thanks for asking. :D
Her name is Wini Shaw. Now I know that doesn't ring a bell, but she won an Oscar for singing the song "Lullabye of Broadway" in the movie "Golddiggers of 1935"

We now set this tread on it's intended direction. Sorry if I did a little derailing.

It has been weeks since I have heard from my partner. We had the broad concept of the project worked out but nothing more.

I had a broad concept once
or was that a broad consent????????

sounds like some sort of log transportation scandal:D

My pardner's a bit of a "Cave Dweller" if ya catch my drift.
I only know that cause I go there daily for a laugh or two.
Mostly supplied by my witty partner i might add:)
He hasn't emailed for a while but I've been following his recent exploits in the Motor City with voyeuristic fascination, pics and all:)

Hevy - I know I'm a slow ass. It's been CRAAAZEEE!!! This I will say, though. For once in my life, I have Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday night free. It is my utmost intent to get the Cd back to you in the mail tomorrow, with vocals, my consensed edit, and some keyboards!!! Or Monday at the latest!!! Maybe even some minimalistic drums.

I've always performed best under the wire anyway. :)

This WILL happen!!!!:D

By the way I like the new avatar. Nice to put a face with the type.

I wish I had a grandma that sang 'Lullaby of Broadway' in a movie in the thirties. Never mind. I had a grandma that used to play piano pretty good and know the words to every popular song that came out between 1930 and 1950. I wonder if one's grandma is the key to musical confidence in the present.

Do we have to wait until August?

obviously...............we are done..... :D

Well, looks like I too need a new partner

The colloboration that I was working on is proceeding at something less than a snail's pace. I hope that something will eventually happen, but I don't anticipate anything soon. I wouldn't mind a 'new' partner as well - what should I do?

The Dreaded Homepage

Hi guys. Well I'm pretty excited that the date for the challenge submissions is finally here! I've finished my parts, and it's now in Lt. Bob's very capable hands. It was a lot of fun, and a whole new way of doing this. (I'm usually not very good at "thinking outside of the box").

Unfortunately, I'm leaving for a weeks vacation this morning, so I'm gonna miss all the posts during challenge week. I'm planning to catch up on ALL of them when I get back. I know you guys will have some great stuff to listen to, so I should have a couple of days worth of good music waiting for me when I return.

I just want to say thanks to the challenge organizers and promoters, and especially to Lt. Bob for a really cool song. I hope y'all like it. And thanks in advance to anybody that takes the time to listen. I'll reply to any posts when I get back.

I really hope there's a good turnout, it sounds like a few people got stiffed by there partners, or had too many technical difficulties. I'd have to say overall, it was pretty smooth for us, but Lt. Bob is really great to work with, and a hell of musician to boot. Again, thanks in advance, and I hope you guys have a ball with this project.

See you in a week,

Twist

Have a good trip partner.....you won't miss much of our song's posts 'cause I won't have it ready 'till about Wednesday the 5th but that's better, it seems, than several of the collabs are doing timewise.

But that's understandable......one of the hardest parts of this for people who haven't collab'd before is simply figuring out the process for doing it.
The exciting thing is that after this is over...we're gonna have a bunch of folks here who know how to do the internet shuffle. The next years gonna be very interesting. ;)

My end of our piece is progressing:) , but slowly:( . Since Toki's in charge of final mixing/fixing/effecting, and we're snail-mailing CDs, we may not quite get there.

For a lo-fi preview sketch, check it out * - this we pulled off in a couple of hours**. Getting it for keepers is a LOT more work.

*yes I paid for deep-linking

**yes I know the vocals suck. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

CD is in the mail to toki987!!! Went out today.

The vocals still suck. He's got a soprano up his sleeve, though - she could save the whole project.

I added horns, some very self-indugent piano/organ parts, and the afore-mentioned sucky vocal tracks...

Daf

It might just turn out ok after I put some sorta radical new riffs and a few suprises on it and gettin Daf`s tracks and mine glued with the rest. yes ladies and gentlemen the skeleton IS from an older piece r&b bed ( that is currently gettin some other attentions.. to be continued..) but this one should be quite interesting different twist, and not very not recognizable after I get the new tracks on with Daf`s, and a very dear old friend with some of her suprises. I guess this might be a bit of audio/genetic morph/engineering experiment. If it flies great, if it don`t well just open the bottle anyway and party :)

Yall have fun at the 3RD ANNUAL HOME RECORDING JAM, but be and, come home safely!!!!

p.s. daf' clean out your PM inbox you packrat!

Ya, I think my partner is suffering a Detroit hangover too. Hmmm...coincidence? ;)

LMAO! I just saw this. Its August 6th, and I just mailed out the wav's. A little late, but as the Supremes said, "You can't hurry love" or something....

Actually, had no choice. I was buried deep in projects. On my first day off in a month, what did I do? Worked on the HRC challenge, thats what! Its now in the hands of the mastermind of this challenge.

Just make sure to get "the lick" in there. Its the most freakin' cool thing I've heard since Are You Experienced came out!
