For those of you who are not pestering me about my track in the chat room, I'll let you know whats up on my end. I've recorded a few takes, but I'm having trouble getting the sound I want. I'm gonna try again, and if I can't get it right, I'll just upload it anyway, and let doc fix it. So I should have my track up by sunday (I know, I said that LAST week). I'm really working on it though..

Ah, I'm sure it'll sound much better to us than you think Nilbog. I would never be able to post my drum tracks if I had to wait until I was perfectly happy with them. If you want the link to get my drum track, send me an e-mail and I'll put it where you can download it. That might actually help the rythm parts to fit together better anyway. I forgot to mention that in the chat room tonight...

Teddie, I was under the impression you were already working on the vocals at the same time Nilbog and I were doing our parts. I guess I missed something a while back. :)

Jon X, er... sorry, didn't mean to mislead. I was waiting for at least the guits and drums to be ready to lay a vox track(s) against, because I'll sing it differently based on the amount of energy the song is giving off. The drums will definitely make a difference and it will help me mentally push my vox to about where I should be... if it just the guits I'm singing with, then I may unknowingly sing with less energy than I should, then when all the parts are added, it may seem like I'm singing under my desk trying not to wake the baby, when in fact was not :)

Nilbog... I'm going to get in chat right now, I'm not sure if I'm too late to catch anyone... ~ Here'I go...
 
Guys, I'm going to have some "sing time" this weekend and was hoping to lay down the vox for our project (Cars) at that time.

Drstawl, do you have a mix with the drums and guits together that I can use to sing the vox to? Am I asking the right question?

The way I was going to do it was to import the mp3 of at least the drums and guits into my multitracking software and then lay my vox tracks along side of it, then I was going to save the vox tracks to seperate wavs and then convert them to mp3s to send off to you... is this the way I should be handling this? Am I on the right track?

Are mine and Emeric's tracks forever stuck in an alternate musical universe of unfinished songs? :)

Aww man...I suck. I actually recorded my part, and then all sorts of things came up in my wide universe of musical recording. I'm really sorry, I didnt follow through with my own damn idea.
I'm still down, and I will try to get my track in as soon as possible...

Dangit... I'm sorry guys... I've got everything I need, I just need to lay the vox down. I think I've got a case of what Nil's got... lotta junk going on - sidetracking me.

I'm going to see what I can do this weekend... maybe hard this weekend though, me and my wife's 2nd anniversary we're Celebrating on Sat (actual date 8/8/98) and my youngest son's first birthday this Sunday (actual date 8/7/99) born the day before our anniversary.. neat.

If not this weekend, then the next, or maybe during the week. I'm still very much into this project, I'm just scattered with lost focus upon a sea of tasks and events.

Ah fuck it, I quit. Me and JonX are forming a seperate band, playing all 80's tunes, Doc's doing the Keys. Look for it soon!

This weekend guys... I'm doing the vocals.

I hope my voice does the essence of this song justice.
When I sing it in my head, I realize that "gary n" sang it pretty mono-tonous.

I haven't really tried to sing it from my vocal chords, just in my head.

We'll see, but I think it will turn out cool.

But this weekend for sure... My wife's actually getting on me about this... she said "Haven't you finished that yet???" She's really into my music... I love her, I love her ass ta pieces.
 
(To Nilbog) - By the way, Nilbog, did you give your bass part to the doctor (drstawl)? I was hoping to lay the vox down while hearing the full music behind it to drive my emotion while singing. If you didn't, that's okay, I'll still lay down the vox with just Emeric's and JonX's part.... but I was just wondering.

Teddie- No I havent gotten my bass part in yet. Man I'm lazy. I havent been able to record ANYTHING in the last few months. And all I have is excuses!
It's not even like it's a hard song either- damnit!
