I think you may have taken just a little too much joy from that... maybe it's just me

I hear ALOT of the room on the vocals. What kind of setup? Drums are a little loud for my tastes.

setup

vocals i was using a rode ntk through a gtbrick . i thought there was too much room in there too is there anyway i can get that out? vocals are my weakest point i think.

Well for this do you have an option to track outside? That would be the quickest/easiest. Otherwise you'll need to treat the room your tracking in.

What? in the garden?

Close mic! that is your solution. Get the singer to sing right up to the mic and use a bit of compression on the way in to avoid clipping from dynamics.

But I think the mix is pretty good. Apart from the cough at 1:33. Edit that man!
There are some wild drum hits that stick out quite a bit though. Could maybe be fixed with compression, or you could cut and paste a good hit in its place.

thnx

yea that cough sucks the drummer well.. he wasnt really anygood i think this was his first time in a studio. so its was pretty bad thnx for the vocal tip.but the rest of the musicans that they brought were ok

Overall not bad. Here are a few thoughts:

* I hear distortion on lead vocal at 1:06, 2:16, 3:14, 3:38 (all at the melody's high point). Watch those levels when tracking.

* Was the electric guitar recorded direct? Sounds kind of dull and lifeless to me.

* There's too much "room" in the vocals (sounds "boxy"). I think there's a bit too much reverb. Are you trying to cover up the boxy sound? Also, there seems to be a lot of buildup in the low mids. Maybe a symptom of the same problem with the room.
