Hey ivebeen fighting with my own vocals for quite some time, I have a dmx / everlasting voice and everytime I record it just sounds so harsh and nasty sounding, how can I make it sound soft but yet solid and clear sounding? I use more compression and then the clicks and pops are peircing the ear along with ess's but then I use a desser properly but it doesent help much or it ruins my quality, I use a audio technical at4040 with a tascam us122 mkii and a art tube pre, its like you know when you listen to rap and it sound soft and full? And I'm trying to some how figure out how to get that soft sound for my doubles aswell and my doubles sound soooo nasty and harsh so please anyone take a pic of a proper eq setting and like a chain? I use waves mercury, I have izotop nectar and ozone 4, and I have nomad factory complete, SORRYIF I MISS TYPE IM USING TOUCH SCREEN ON PHONE MY APOLOGIZE

Nice to meet you 40o! Welcome to the forum.

Everything you have for effects are the really expensive ones that are easily stolen. I will not judge you here, but be aware that you may not get any support in this forum if you do not purchase your software.

Regarding your question, I would put blame on the low end preamps you are using.
