eq?

what are you plugging them into? its not a headphone adjustment as much as an output adjustment....

the sound just doesnt have enough bass im guessing? Is the bass to low on like media playback also, or just your recorded stuff. cause if its just your recorded stuff im guessing you just dont have enough bass in em, and turn that up on the eq. But if not im pretty sure there is no way to just turn up the bass on your headhpones

Yeah, bass is low all around, even on media playback. thanks.

Those headphones have a very flat bass response. It is not diminished. It's probably just that you're used to hearing music with the bass boosted. Now you're hearing what it actually sounds like. If you want more bass for general listening, use EQ on your media player, etc. If you're using them for tracking/mix checks, I would leave the EQ flat. The ATH-D40 have a bass boost compared to the ATH-M40fs, so you may want to check those out.
