How to use cheap PC mic with M-Audo Firewire Solo?

Mshilarious, doesn't he just need a voltage divider (a couple of resistors) to make the pc mic work with his phantom power interface?

PC mics have power and signal on different lines (ring, tip), so you need to block phantom power with a cap. It is easiest to say use pin 3 for power only; you could use a resistor between pin 1 and 3 (because phantom is already fed through a 6.8K resistor), or a zener diode of 5V or so, and connect to ring. It's also good to use a filter cap parallel with a zener. The zener has the advantage of regulating regardless of the power supply or load from the mic.

Then also you need a cap inline with pin 2 and tip.
