I'm editing loops from phat beats.com by hand and there's a lot of high end hiss. How to I reduce this yet still keep the fidelity of the cymbals. Is there a free noise reducing plug in?
In Adobe Audition (formerly Cool Edit Pro) you can highlight a section of hiss and do "Noise Reduction" in edit view, or press Alt+N to capture the noise profile, then select the whole track and run the Noise Reduction. this will pull SOME out of the highs, but you can also adjust the amount of noise it reduces.
