Hi,

I have what is most likely a very simple question....

I want to be able to record audio as it's coming through my real player. I have soundforge and cooledit, and the trusty little sound recorded program that comes with windows...

What do I have to do to get the audio output from real to go into a recording program???

Thanks

I could be wrong on this but it's worked for me in the past. Try right clicking on the link and then do "save target as". It's worked for me on some mp3's.

good luck....

that doesn't work for realplayer. what i'm wanting is to record streaming audio as it's coming through my machine. I mean, I suppose I could go out the soundcard and into a mixer or stereo or something, and then back into the computer, but I want to record it directly.

Bring up your soundcard's control panel. Under the "record" fader, there should be some sort of option to record "all" (ie the cd player, streaming audio, computer beeps, midi, the works) or a "what you hear" setting. If using "all", be sure to mute the sliders for the CD player and stuff so you don't get extra noise. Then you can record in whatever recording software you choose. :)

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO RECORD?? SONGS?? IF SO, AS (oops sorry bout caps) as rushfan suggested try getting those songs in MP3 format, and then just burn 'em on audio cd

If the worst comes to the worst................

You can always go OUT of your soundcard. Then, you could go directly back IN to your soundcard.

I just want to record the audio (news broadcasts, etc) as it's streaming into my computer. I tried playing around with my soundblaster volume/mixer and it doesn't seem to have any effect on the real player. I know I could go out of the computer and into a stereo/4track/whatever and then back in, but all of that stuff is in the garage right now...

Any ideas?
