Hello ,
I have a volt 276 audio interface with iPad 10 and using n-tracks (daw)
I’m older and have no experience
. I also write lyrics.i would like to put a song together just can’t due to not understanding daw !!

From what I can gather, interface and the DAW (which I have never used and just now learned about) looks rather straight forward, not sure about trying it on an iPad. What are you exactly struggling with?

I would focus on the basics, recording a track, adding a track, learn the master bus. Start there first. No fancy, VSTs, or crazy stuff. Are you recording guitar, outboard keyboards or using a keyboard controller and VSTi's (Virtual instruments)?

Please give us a bit more information, there is plenty of help on the board.

First Connect your Volt to the iPad:

Then watch the Tutorial on N-Tracks:

Then get a microphone like a TLM103 on Aliexpress - the KETS brands
is good - they are about $30 right now.
You also need an XLR - Which you can get at Amazon.
If you play guitar get a Amp Emulator like IK Multimedia Amplitube 5 CS or
Native Instruments Guitar Rig 6 Player.

Or
Use Garageband on your iPad (Its included free) and use the Amp Models - and you
can use iPad’s Drummer and Bass with iPads Bass - and you’ll need a Keyboard (how to connect)
and a suggestion for a Arturia Keyboard.

Thank you.
unplugged acoustic and voice . Two condenser microphones. One voice one guitar. So the sound is not the problem the problem is that I’m trying to add something else to make it as close enough to a song with full instruments and I can’t figure out how to do this. I tried GarageBand on iOS and n-tracks. I was just wondering if someone can show me an easy way to add drums or trumpet to my songs.

I’ve done that. I’m just not happy with the outcome. So this is Spanish music and it’s all original lyrics and melody. I’m trying to get a full sound so I can upload this songs and maybe make something happen. I’ve been on this n-tracks since march of this year and I’m stuck. All my songs is just me and a guitar.

OK, first, focus on getting as good a sounds as you can. The polish comes later. Can you record separate tracks? If so, my suggestion is lay the guitar track down twice (double tracking. Group those together and get them to blend well. Two tracks, each mono. Slight pan left and right to taste. Once you have that, then you can add vocals.

If you are going to do MIDI tracks, you will need to determine your BPM and time signature. You can do it free, but it is better that you get the BPMs for now. Lay down vocals, post it on the MP3 Clinic and the kind folks here will begin to help you understand the process.

This mixing is the hard part of recording. Source is important, but then you have to get everything to sound the way you want. all together. You must be patient, but it isn't just hit record and go. There is a reason it took so many people to produce a musical product. Lots going on.

Do your best, post in MP3 and we can begin to assist. If you are apprehensive because it is an original, post a cover. It is the process that we can assist with here.
