How to not have the crack between songs on CD

I need some advice. I use a mitsumi CDRW that supports disk at once, track at once and when I try to burn some songs on a CDR using track at once, I get these annoying cracks between the songs,(one loud crack), then the next song starts. I tried burning in disc at once, but it wouldn't finish the burning and there is some kind of error, which I can't figure out. I am using WinOnCd by CeQuadrat and use memorex CD-Rs. The memorex cdrs that I bought says that it conforms to orange book II standards, but didn't say anything else about other standards.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to burn CD's without getting that loud noise in between songs.
Thanks for any advice.

Hard to tell whether it's a software or hardware problem, but I don't think Mitsumi is top-drawer hardware. If you're getting errors you certainly have a problem though!

The best software by far (I think) is a German program called NERO!
It's great and it doesn't make stupid crap.
you can get it at www.ahead.de
I made perfect Cds with a 233mmx with 64 megs of ram and Win98

Don't multitask when writing Cd's and have a fresh boot before yo write (don't so stuff other than boot before you run your program, maybe)

Check out my question called "A better way for CD writing", thanks

Thanks folks. I did find out how to do disc at once without errors, but I have to do it without a test writing. I guess it didn't like test writing. So I guess I will just do it that way for now.

Bobbo: What did it do when you just selected test but no write?

drstawl,
What happens is, if I select the test write first then write to disc selection, it does the test write all the way to 99% finished, then it just stops and doesn't do anything. But then, if I just select the write immediately to disc selection, it will burn the CD in disc at once, not giving me the loud crack in between songs like it does when I write track at once. So it does work, but I just can't test write it first.
With my software, I can select 3 ways to burn: 1)test write 2)test write/then burn CD 3)write immediately to disc
Maybe I will try #1, see how that goes, then do 3) if #1 works. I have been doing #2 and it doesn't work.
I would be nice to test write it first, because doesn't the laser do some fine tuning during this process?
