Why go through the C+ nightmare when you could use other programs to do it for you.

MaxMSP

MaxMSP to create the sound processes you want and the Pluggo to wrap the Max patch into a VST format......... You can even create a standalone plug that you could market!

Granted using C+ would give you more controll over the GUI.
