I was a Cubase user for years and now have switched to Pro tools and can not get started because I can't figure out How to Make my western digital external Hard Drive an “Audio Record Volume” in Pro Tools 8 LE. I am using Windows 7 and Mbox2 mini. I go to the workspace and right click to change from T to R or P and it won't change from T. Any tips and help will be appreciated

I know that when you first fire up Adobe Audition after install it finds the biggest drive and asks you if you want to use that or specify another. I am pretty sure you can set Cubase similarly?

Don't know jack about PT however, sorry!

Dave.

I haven't used PT in years but from memory you used to have to go to the Windows/Workspace menu which should give you a list of your drives. They'll be labelled "A" for "Audio" and 'V" for "Video".

If the letter under the A for the drive you want to use isn't an "R" click on it and select R from the dropdown menu.

If this doesn't work sometimes you have to reformat your HDD.

As I say, many years since I've touched PT so if the menus have changed, apologies.
