How to lock sampling frequency to 48000Hz in Delta 1010 LT

I use Win XP as OS and Nuendo4, Cubase5, FL Studio 11 etc applications. I usually set 48000Hz sampling frequency in my Delta 1010 LT control Panel (driver version 6.0.8). Many times when I open FL Studio 11 it says
"The needed sample rate (48000Hz) couldn't be set or is not supported by the ASIO driver. Please try another sample rate."

And then I can not change the sample rate, it was locked. I have to restart the machine, set the sample rate to 48000Hz and open FL Studio. How to fix the problem? Is there any way to make default sample rate to 48000Hz?

(A) Unless you're recording for video, you should probably just leave it at 44.1kHz. You're really not gaining anything (especially if you're eventually resampling to 44.1).

(B) Check to see if you're (the Delta) mapping through Windows -- Don't. Windows is probably trying to set the rate.

See attached.
Set rate, set to "locked"?

Dave.

I would lock it.

But what I'm getting at is in (Device Manager...?). You don't want Windows mapping through the Delta. You certainly don't want it as the default sound device if you can help it.

Hi John, always been a bit confused on this point, if OP sets the Delta card as ASIO device does that not bypass all interference from Windows?

Dave.

If the windows sounds are playing through the delta card, it is possible that Windows will attempt to adjust the cards sample rate.

The problem could also stem from the fact that he has outdated versions of Cubase AND Nuendo, which are essentially the same program. I'm assuming he didn't actually purchase $3500 worth of software to run through $100 worth of soundcard...

"If the windows sounds are playing through the delta card,"

WTF does he have Windows Sounds enabled?

Dave.

The same reason he has nuendo and cubase at the same time...
