How to get rid of the ground noise

i have a computer with an integrated sound card
i wanna record a cool quality demo using cool edit
but there is ground sound and i donno how to avoid it
...there is a natural ground noise ...
do i have to buy a sound card ?
is my connection poor ?

BTW ..the ground noise is noticeable when the volume is high
but anyway i dont want it

Chances are it's the way you are connected and your cables are picking up electrical interferance because they are not balanced but without knowing more about your setup it's all a guess. Try unplugging things one at time to see if you can isolate the source of the noise. Integrated cards are a lower quality but it's probably not the source of your noise.
