Hi. I bought an AKG d112 off ebay and it SMEEEEELLLSSSSS. This guy must have been a chain smoker. I left it outside today with little improvement (and it's freakin' windy). Any ideas on ridding the smell? Google produced results of vinegar or baking soda left out overnight or something along those lines? But that was for cars..

thanks,

tim.

 how did THAT happen

Go to the store and buy a new box of baking soda. When you get home, dump all of the baking soda into a large, clean, dry glass jar. . Open a clean washcloth and stuff it into the jar, wiping the baking soda into the bottom of the jar while keeping the edges of the washcloth up to make a pocket. Gently lay the mic into the pocket, screw the jar lid on, and leave it in a warm dry place for a week. When you pull it out, it'll smell like a virgin, kissed for the very first time... ;)
