Can anyone point me to some tutorials for the groove quantisize function in Cubase SL?

I've read the manuals and the help files but am having trouble following the whole process. I'm not entirely sure that I even understand the concept completely and correctly.

Basically, I'm recording vocals, bass and guitar and I figure that I can groove quantisize the bass line, add a midi drums track and have some hitpoints to guide me as I lay down the drums. I get lost somewhere between having created the groove on the bass line, and then trying to create a midi drum track with the freshly made groove "template'' on it by ensuring that I was using the bass line groove in the drop-down menu. I thought that I'd see some sort of "grid" on the midi track that's syncronised to the hitpoints on the bass track....? But it's blank with no indication of hitpoints or whatever.

First of all, here are links to two good articles on midi basics - part one and part two. They may be a little too basic for you, but we can all use a refresher course now and then...

And you're right when you say you're not understanding the concept completly or correctly.

Try the Cubase User Forum here - just snoop around and do a search or two before you ask any questions.

Thanks, but....

Yes, the tutorials covered stuff that I already had a reasonable knowledge of, but you weren't to know that. Thank you for posting them. I'm still not any clearer on what exactly I'm doing with this groove quantisize thing. Oh well, I'm going to sit down tonight and hammer it out! :D
