How to connect monitors to 1616m

Hello,

I have an E-MU 1616m soundcard, which has 3 1/8" speaker outs. How do I connect a standard pair of active(powered) monitors that have 1/4" inputs?(e.g. Yorkville YSM1P)

Arn't there a bunch of 1/4" balanced outs on the external box?

The 1/8” outs on the 1616m are for computer speakers. There are regular, balanced ¼” line outs for your monitors.

I thought those were only for hearing what is being recorded (as apposed to hearing the session/metronome and what you are recording).

Can I use an instrument cable to connect the monitors? Any recommendations?
