Hey, i wanna record my Ashdown Fallen Angel 60w head to my PC directly, as the acoustics of my room are crap and i cant get a decent sound.
I also want to be able to crank more than bedroom level to get the best sound available from my amp.

I will be using my Motu 828 mkII to record with, and i was looking to get a hughes and kettner Red Box to emulate the cabinet.
Will i need anything else to do this?
I've also been looking at the THD hotplate to crank the amp and bedroom volumes. But they are quite pricey.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks alot.

Rob

I really think the hotplate will yield the best results. I have never gotten a good sound using the lineouts of an amp. But maybe your amp will work well for it, who knows.

yes this is something I am looking into. Either this or the hot plate. The isobox would be the best solution btu how much would it cost to build one? And how hard is it to do? I have no experience in DIY projects.

actually im looking to make one that I can put a 1X12" cab into with two mics so I can really crank the amp without disturbing people.

do you think that would really cut the noise down if I were to put a cab in it(of course i'd have to make a bigger one) and stick it in my closet?

lay it out on paper. write down the size of the peaces you need. Take the paper to lowes or home depo and they will cut the wood for you. You will also need wood screws and a phillips screw driver. It helps if you drill pilot holes before you put in the screws. If you dont have a drill of some sort, I would use nails and a hammer. It is really cheap. the board is very cheap. A hell of a lot cheaper than a hot plate. The closet thing would help as well.
