How much do your monitors hum?

Nothing hums in my pile of speggetti wiring :p

Just got nice clean power to my set up. :D

Next up a 5KVA isolation transformer for the set up. :eek:
 
Thanks again, all. Your feedback helps... but now you're really starting to rub it in. I have a very minor hum, but you have silence. I'm diving in this weekend.

An update, for anyone interested...

I tore into things last night and found the problem: an AC extension cord with a switched box at the end. I'm using a seperate extension cord, with an on/off switch, for my monitors, running that cord into an APC battery back-up/surge protector box. When I replaced the extension cord, the hum dropped down to a soft hiss, which I can't hear unless I place my ear against the speakers. Problem solved--and I thank all of you for your helpful suggestions. Ah, the sweet sounds of silence, especially late at night when every click or hum throughout the house seems huge.

I actually like the ground loop hum, buzzing, popping and wiring issues/posts.

Its the puzzle and partitioning and hopefully the root cause is found and eliminated.

always seems simple, after the problems are gone....
 
i had to break my ground pins off power cables on mine to elimanate hum it was pretty anoying to try and mix with hum!!

usally its a ground issue!!!!!
