How many Les Paul owners?

I always have my 70's standard (with Seth Lovers) around, but don't forget Les Paul Jrs! Nothing screams like that lo-mass wood with a P-90!! I have a '55 that I got in a pawn shop in Texas for $200 (!!!) years ago and now a Jr. reissue (which also sounds amazing!!)

I have a black beauty also, I know what you mean about the weight-(I went through a couple of straps (no strats) before buying one that would hold the fuckin' thing without ripping them.

About the tuning-I don't have the same problem though the G, B strings are a little tepremental (generally though not within one song).

Historic Collection '59 Plaintop reissue. Not flamey, just a plain looking '59 that I probably paid too much for when I got carried away at a guitar show. I had played only my Strat for years. This one's very loud, much more resonant. Classic '57 PAFs. Through a Lexicon Signature 284 recording amp, a solid state stereo power amp and a Marshall 4 X 12 stereo cabinet. Cuts through bass and drums like a knife.

'70 gold-top deluxe. Bought it for $750 3 years ago from a friend who said he wanted me to have it. The best sounding LP ever made. John

Modified Les Pauls!

This is a reply to David B.........I also have a modified
"Flame Top" Paul.It was the last of the '57 goldtops with
P-90 pickups, and someone had a gorgeous '59 top put on it
and added humbuckings. While I would have never done these
mods myself,I must admit this guitar is incredible! And yes,
it has that light dry wood sound.I did own an actual '59 flametop before, and while it was a great axe, this one is as good or better......which shows the cosistency of all the
Gibson stuff back then.I took the DiMarzio PAF pickups out
and put in a pair of early patent number pickups, which are my favorites.......they have a little more top end than
PAFs.These are from about '63.Of course,the two piece top isn't centered,because goldtops were a solid color,so who
would notice?And all through a '59 Bassman......aaahh,
life is sweet,huh?

I have a 1970 Les Paul Deluxe. It's brown/yellow sunburst. The pickups have been replaced with 490/500s. I looks just like a Standard, except originally they came with mini-humbuckers. It sounds great! I know they are not made anymore, but I never hear anybody talk about these guitars nor do I see them listed anywhere in history. I heard they were made for jazz due to the kind of wood, but I know nothing about wood and resonancy. Maybe Gibson lost interest in a model that would attract jazz musicians after the Les Paul became the god, the all-mighty, the wet dream inducing apparition of every wannabe rock-guitar-legend-in-the-making ever born.....

Pair of 94 Studio's Ebony w Silver Hdwr
and my new baby, Historic Collection Jr. Double Cutaway
Love those P90's. Now I need one of those mid 90's Studio P90 models.

I guess I have to say it.
I have a '77 Les Paul Custom. Blonde top with the mini-humbuckers. I also have a 1999 Epiphone Les Paul that has a cool blue/black quilted maple top and all black hardware. I put a set of PRS Dragon humbs in it.
I like the Epi better in every way over my Gibson. Better looking, better sounding, better playing. So call me nuts.

Oh that hurts!

I had a les paul studio light cherry sunburst, I bought it from my friend for like $200 bucks.
So cheap cause it had fallen of the stand and the head stick split. so my friend used HUGE! bolts to put it back together. I sold it back to him for $300 though.
But I still miss it. I put a Dimarzio Breed in it.

They're too heavy

I have a "The Paul" with which some chickie tried to murder her boyfriend. He sold it to me for $175. Big-as-life crack from front to back on the stock that had his head as the reason. True Story. Later this guitar was involved in an amp malfunction accident whereupon A/C line voltage of 110V was applied to the strings long enough for them to glow like the filaments on electric heaters, scorch the frets and melt the nut. I'd say this guitar has had some bad vibes from the "git-go". :)

no les paul for me!

eh, les pauls for me are to damn heavy. i love my Gibson SG-Z, and i think its sweeter than any other les paul ive played...

I had a Les Paul Studio.

I sold it in 1996. I still haven't gotten over it...

msr!
I have a DeLuxe from ´71. It´s a sunburst and it´s in original shape including the mini-humbuckers.
I bought it in ´89 and there´s no way in the world I would ever sell it.
I´ve thought about it too, why the model came out and why they only made a few thousand over a few years before stopping in ´73, I think?
