Wow! This thread is so old, it's actually on Medicare! Well every couple of years I have to update. I don't really get new guitars, I just refine the collection to fill the holes of the standard guitar types. I'm currently pared down to just what I (and the studio) need:
Taylor 710CE with Fishman blender (my bread and butter)
1980 Epiphone PR725-S (expendable camping axe, and an old friend)
Epiphone Les Paul Custom w/ classic 57 humbuckers (shockingly good for what it is- but gets no respect 'cause it doesn't say "Gibson" on it.) Vintage unknown, but definitely built by Samick in Korea.
2004 Epiphone Casino- also by Samick
2004 Highway One
Fender Telecaster
2006 Jimmie Vaughn signature Tex-Mex Fender Stratocaster
Epiphone Selena signature C70CE cutaway classical- has to be 90's vintage
Ventura Bruno Classical- vintage unknown. I'm guessing 70's. Picked it up in a flea market for $50 with no saddle. Sound is not so hot but the neck is good. I do some medieval /early music gigs and needed a nylon string with traditional styling.
Squier P-bass- What the hell? I don't deserve a good one, just something to mess around with and for tweaking the studio's bass rig.
I have to say that after all these years, I'm humbled by the collections of old Martin's some people on this board have.-Richie
