Ditto. Anything more is just luxurious fun for me, like my beautiful 1958 Fender double-neck slide.

Anyone remember Steve Howe with his multiple guitar racks, one with sliding holders? I used to love that stuff.

I could get by with 6 I guess.

Let's see I'd need;
2 electrics, strat/tele
1 electric jazz archtop
1 acoustic jazz archtop
1 acoustic dread
1 acoustic round shoulder
1 jumbo
1 classical
1 nylon hybrid
1 12 string
1 variax

that's 11
I lied.

I've got 3, but I only count two of them cuz the second acoustic was a $100 POS. I'd like one or two more tho... a 12-string acoustic and a twangy electric with a whammy bar (either that or the Digitech whammy pedal). I can't justify having any more than that, so I wouldn't. I'm practical.

I have 27, and 90% are playable.

Ask her how many husbands she was planning to have, and tell her to add one to that number.

or tell her that "guitars are a substitute for sex. A guy needs only three things, food, sleep, and sex. Today, I have eaten and slept, and now I'm thinking about buying another guitar......."

How many guitars do I need?

All of them!

And I won't stop until I have them all!

Well, OK, I don't need a T-60, or any other Peavey, for that matter.

But other than that, I need them all!

And I will have them!

You don't like Carvin headstocks.

OK, let me rephrase that

All of the guitars with non-pointy headstocks, so I guess I can do without the Jackson/Charvels and most of the Carvins. The Carvins with the 3+3 headstocks are OK, especially their tele version and I'll definitely take the Holdsworth models.

OK, no PRS SEs, either.

But other than that, wait, OK, I don't want most of the Gretsch line either, I guess, but other than that, I want 'em all.

And my thermos.

Oh, yeah baby!

Combining my two favorite things in life. ;)

WTF? I am jut curious about alternate tunings. For slide, i tune the high E string to D so you can find a fourth, a major third and a minor third SOMEWHERE. Other than that, i never use them. Why would you tune the D to E and the high E to Eb?

Try it! I like that one when playing an Emaj shape. If you play an open E major, you end up with a 9th on the D and the maj. 7th on the high e. Its also fun to play chord shapes on the lowest four strings while letting the high e and b stay open. A G# minor also sounds nice in that tuning when the b and e strings ring open.

OK. Here is the justification for the T-60. The Squier I just put together has 2 hummers which I think are perfect for the 70s funk thing. The PV has 2 hummers, too. I already have a t-60. It's an early one that weighs 12 pounds. It has some neat sounds, but I don't like the thin maple neck. the one I saw in the store was a later, lighter one with a rosewood fb. I also know that it's been there a long time and no one loves it. Lastly, I see them all the time on ebay for more than what they're asking.

I admit they do have a stigma attached, but I think it's mostly undeserved. They are put together well and are made in America. they just take some twiddling of knobs to get a good sound, so they don't work out so well for gigs (for me anyway).

Alot of guys seem to think they need one example of every different sound a guitar can make. I really am only looking for one sound. I just look in alot of weird places I guess.

That reminds me

I ESPECIALLY want, er, need, the Rory Gallagher Strat.

Definitely that one.

What you need

is the big Urban Cowboy hat from the early 80's with the feather on the front, so you can sing 'Looking For Sound (In All The Weird Places)'.

I think you get a free young Charlene Tilton with the hat.

ROX-anne

You don't have to stay with juststartingout tonight.

ROX-anne.

Why don't you sneak into my trunk tonight. :D

You know, juststartingout

those are some mighty nice guitar pics you got there, but, I don't know, there just seems to be something missing. ;)

Hey Cephus

the only stigma that should be attached to the T-60s is they're just so damn ugly. Come to think of it, I guess to me they are sort of associated with that whole Urban Cowboy period. I know, it's my problem.
