1. The main "does everything computer". Athlon 1900, Gigabyte mobo with VIA 333 chipset, ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500, 512 MB RAM, Win XP Pro, 3COM NIC, Audiophile 2496 audio, 120 and 80 gig hard drives, DVD & 52X CDR drives, HP scanner, HP Color inkjet, HP black & white laser, Yamaha monitor speakers, Viewsonic 19" monitor, and Behringer 802 mixer attaching VCR/cassette/Radio to both monitoring system and computer. I do almost everything on this system including recording my favorite TV (Fox Sunday night) to Video CD.
2. The living room "TV/MP3" system. P3 933 cpu, ASUS P3V4X mobo with VIA Apollo chipset, 10 and 80 gig drives, 512 MB RAM, Win 98SE, ATI All-In-Wonder video, Creative Audigy Value sound, 3 COM NIC, wireless keyboard & mouse, DVD & 52X CDR drives, and all painted black to match my stereo gear (which it is stacked with). This system holds about 43 gigs of MP3 files using Music Match to keep things organized. it's also hooked in to my fairly monsterous stereo system, 36" HDTV (which it uses as monitor), and a small FM transmitter so either cable music / CD stack / MP3s can be broadcast to all radios in the house or yard.
3. The studio beast. Recently upgraded (the old guts went to #2 above) to an Athlon 2200, Shuttle motherboard with VIA 266A chipset, Radeon video, SB Live, Gadget Labs 824 sound card (8in/8out at 24 bit 41/48 sampliing), Win 98SE, 512 megs DDR RAM, 40 / 80 / 120 gig hard drives, 32X CDR, 19" Proview monitor. Connected to all the studio gear via a Alesis Studio 32 mixer.
4. The "game Box". Athlon 1.4, MSI motherboard, 256 megs RAM, 40 & 20 gig hard drives, 16X CDR, DVD, SB Live audio, 17" Sony monitor, Radeon 7500 video, Win XP Pro. Sits in the same room with #1, used exclusivly for gaming, plus anytime I want to try installing something questionable (so I don't screw up an important system). This is also the box I take to LAN parties.
I have a few other semi-functional boxes around, and I'm building a P3/450 tower for use as a Win 2000 file server. But those four are my babies.
Oh - and I almost forgot, an old Compaq M300 laptop - P3 500, 10 gig HD, 128 ram, Win XP pro, wireless NIC, combo DVD/CDR drive. Doesn't get much use these days.
