Yes King David was a musician, Singer Psongwriter and believer... So were Bach, Bethoven and Handel. In fact much of the great music that has endured for hundreds of years was inspired by the Judeo-Christian Faith. In more modern times groups have used their musical pulpit to promote drugs, sex, violence with their lyrics. Are we better off?
Some believe that music is a "gift" and that's why we want to share our talents with others, so they will get something out of it.
Mabye just the enjoyment of the sound, or to dance to, or even to tell a story in a song. Lyrics are a very important part of music, they can outlast the melody in many instances.
Keep the faith brother, and spread the word in your songs!
