The desk we are using forces our monitors to be out about 5'-5& 1/2' apart. However the sitting position in front of the console and window leaves you sitting about 3' from the monitors. I'm trying to readjust the setup to form more of an equilateral triangle which means bringing the monitors together or pushing the console back further than desired. Because of some metal bars protruding from the desk the next available space would bring the monitors to 3' apart from one and other. This would form an equilateral triangle with the listening position. Still doing this would take a little work.
So I have two questions here.
1) Would 3 feet between Monitors on center be acceptable or do they need to be spaced further apart for better imaging?
2) How important is the formation of the equilateral triangle between monitors and listening position? How much wiggle room do you have before running into trouble with imaging? Can you get by being 3' - 3 & 1/2' away from the monitors when the monitors themselves are 5'-5 & 1/2' away from each other?
Thanks
