The synth in "Weigh Your Sins" sounds exactly like the strings in "Way to Blue" by Nick Drake.
GREAT tune, by the way. Though I still think "Cello Song" is the most beautiful thing that guy ever wrote.

Hmmm I find it tough to pick a favourite Nick Drake song. I like both Hazy Janes, Northern Sky, Day is Done, and Time of No Reply the best. Do you like John Martyn?
Not really up on him, actually - I like Nick Drake, but he's not really my normal fare.
light,
first of all, define "groove"! i think it is an overused term with no real meaning and is used by psuedo musicians who think sounding hip is more important than actual talent!
hey guys, can't we all be friends?Well then lets take a listen to yours. Not that any ability you have will make you any less of a prick. You're 36? Time to grow up yeah? Start treating other people with a bit of respect maybe?

soooo right!! I read all these posts by questionable musicians who waste their life studying music but never take the time to enjoy it. you are either born with it or you might as well forget it! the once famous british musician Manfred Mann used to teach a music coarse in college. the first day of class he would put on a record and ask each student to clapp on the off beat. if they clapped on the downbeat he would kick them out! for those theoretical geniuses out there, the down beat is 1,2,3,4 and the off beat is "and"in between those! a quick test to see who has it and who don't!
No they dont.Since the early 90's mediocroty has ruled.People need to get back to the fact that playing an instrument is an art.An art that should never be dumbed down for the sake of ease.it ain't rocket surgery. people make music and recording way more complicated than it needs to be.

I'll take my CD/ALBUM collection over any of the shit getting airplay today,so yes,it is rocket surgery to make great music.
