How good are the RME HDSP 9632 and 9652 souncards for music production?

Also how are they in comparison with other soundcards/interfaces under £300 ($430)
 
If they're up to RME's standards, then they're very good. But like I mentioned in your other post, they're just the converters and DSP. They have no preamps, no instrument/mic/line inputs. It's all digital I/O. You'd need to spend more money on a front end for them. And that would price you out of your stated budget of $450.
