How far away from my tape machine should I keep speakers?

At some point in the near future I want to move my Tascam ATR-60 into our rehearsal space so we can actually record with it. However, it's a smallish room, and space is at a premium. I'll have no choice but to keep it in the general vicinity of a lot of speakers. How far away should I keep, say, a 4x12 guitar cab or 4x10 bass cab from the tape machine to be safe from interference from their magnetic fields? Can I even have them in the same room? I hope so, because I'm screwed otherwise.
 
Two feet should be cool.

If you don't have at least that much room, consider hunting down a remote transport and track arming kit.
