How do you use Antares Autotune 3 effectively?

Some help thank you, I have been trying to find an alternative with no luck for ages. I will check out this OB tune.

Just to make a small point to who ever was talking about song downloads. If my friend had not illegally download a album of one of my favourite bands and if I had not illegally ripped it off him, i would not of even heard of them never mind buying their latest release and go to see them live on many an occasion.

Ah yes, another case of the end justifying the means and of the theif telling the victim that they know what's better for the victim than the victim does.

It's not your call, mate. The world does not revolve around you and what you think is right. If someone says, "don't take my stuff", then you have the OBLIGATION not to take it; you don't have the right to overrule them and say, "it's for your own good."

Especially when you know that's not your motivation, that your motivation is solely to get something for nothing, and the rest is just excuses.

The end does not justify the means. The "end" is much bigger than that. When people start thinking that it's Ok to break the law in the name of some "higher" justification, the rule of law breaks down and the "higher" justification evaporates. It's chasing rainbows.

If there wasn't so many people downloading instead of buying, the record companies would invest more money into promotion (like they used to) and you would have heard about that band. As it is, new bands are now just getting between $2000 and $5000 to make their first album with. This is down from around $10000 to $15000 just 4 years ago. I'm talking labels like Metal Blade, Nuclear Blast, etc...

The other thing that is happening is that the labels aren't promoting an album until it sells X amount of copies. There are different levels of support for different levels of sales. It seems backwards, but that is the way they do it now. This is a direct result of people like you taking the profit out of the record industry.

If you have any aspirations of making any money playing music, you are selling your future for "free stuff" now. Good luck with that.

Duncandeath - your moral compass is in need of re-calibration. If you think only of yourself, then think about what it will be like when you release your CD and people really dig it, but the checks aren't coming in because everyone thinks it's ok to steal it.

OB tune is for PC only as far as I can tell

I hate saying one program is better than another. But as a 4 year user of Antares autotune software, I have found Melodynes to be....easier to use, and more practical. Melodyne also has a mono version just released for I believe 200.00. Demos are available at their website.

On another note......this has to be the very first post about autotune where the Cher "Believe" song hasnt been mentioned regarding the SOS interview. Things are changin........
 
I tried that demo last night and was very impressed,

what is missing in the cheaper version apart from it just being mono?

I don't agree, If I record my voice and can not nail my vocals I cannot fix it with pitch correction at all. If you don't have good starting material it will never become really good by pitching it. :D

Duncandeath hasn't even logged into this board in two and a half years. Calling him a tool now probably won't accomplish anything. I am wondering why he has a porch in his garage. Is there an advantage to having it there instead of on the front of the house like everyone else?
