I know you need an alesis trigger and the programme ezdrummer obviously but what do you need to do and what do you do about latency because i don't fancy buying firebox.
Cheers!

Latency is the delay in your soundcard and its drivers.
Nothing you can do to stop it in a 40cent onboard soundcard except replace it with an ASIO low-latency soundcard.

----------------------------------------------------

Still using a built-in soundcard?? Unfortunately, those are made with less than $1 worth of chips for beeps, boops and light gaming (not to mention cheapness for the manufacturer) and NOT quality music production.

#1 Rule of Recording: You MUST replace the built-in soundcard.

Here's a good guide and tested suggestions that WORK: http://www.tweakheadz.com/soundcards_for_the_home_studio.htm

(you'll want to bookmark and read through all of Tweak's Guide while you're there...)

I'm a noob lol don't know much. I download asio4all its apprantly good for latency.

ASIOforall is a poor man's fix.

You won't get better than the ASIO driver writen by the manufacturer of your audio device.

Other things to take into account, latency is subject to your computer performance, processor, memory speed, THE ASIO DRIVER etc.

I use a Roland TD3 brain midi out to midi in on my Yamaha N12 which connects to the computer via firewire. I can load up a 1GB+ kit in superior drummer and play all day with the ASIO set at 32 samples or 1.74ms latency. YMMV.

Yeah but what programme do i use i'v got the midi usb now what i'm getting really angry because there are no tutorials on how to f***ing do it  GRRR

You've got to run ezdrummer in a DAW like Cubase or Sonar or something. It's not a standalone application. What do you have?

rigister your EZdrummer at toontrack.com and download toontrack solo, that'll let you load up your EZdrummer and play away without using a DAW like cubase, sonar, logic, poor tools etc.
