just wondering if its possible, is there a software that remembers and isolates each different drum: say a track of kick, snare and toms and then can replace them, like drumagog but for a one track recording cause i cant afford no firepod :( hahah

Are the drums mixed down to one stereo track? Or are they on individual tracks?

If they're individual tracks, something like aptrigga is relatively inexpensive, or you can go with Replacer which is free but is definitely no-frills. I've used it on kicks with a lot of success though.

If it's mixed down to a stereo file already.... you can use something like Reaper's ReFir to isolate the frequency of the drum you want to replace, then use something like Replacer to run your sample. I really don't know how well that would work if you wanted to do more than just replace the kick and snare, though.

No, but if you want to get technical you maybe could try what the previous response was but that might work if you had a VERY consistent drummer, the dynamics were right and the drums were mixed well and or peaking in the right frequencies. Don't be cheap it won't pay off.
