i am new to recording so i belive that i have been nieve enough to think that it wouldn't be very hard. I have an acoustic and an electric drumset, but i just want to make some quick recordings of some old songs. I need to know what i need to record from my roland Td-6V Vdrums to my laptop. I know that there are interfaces that will make this posible, but which should i choose. Keep in mind it doesn't need to be great quality, but i would like to decifer drum beats and tom tones. I have Acid 5 on my laptop. Some one please show me the way! thank you skdrum

I've recorded my TD-3 by using the MIDI in/out, running from a MIDI to PC cable to the back of my soundcard (joystick port), or you can use an interface that has MIDI I/O. At the moment I am just using the line out from the module to the line in of my soundcard. Either work well, but of course MIDI means you can fiddle around with the notes etc.

you need a cable with a 1/8 plug on one end, and a 1/4 on the other....plug the 1/4 into the L(mono) output of your module, and the 1/8 plug into the line in of your soundcard.
