How do we keep our ears and heads clear?

soap and water, preferably warm water. You get a cloth and wet it a bit under a tap, or in a little boal filled with the warm water. then you rub the soap on the cloth, and wipe your face and ears with it thoroughly. After that you rinse the soap off the cloth, so it is clean again, and then you wipe the residue of soap off your face and ears with that. Repeat once or twice, dependant on how much dirst you wish to remove.

MaxMix - how can you fly without feathers?

Say wha?

Sjoko,

Are you talking about how to clean your face or help allergies? Or does cleaning your face help allergies?

I might go with the Claritin, gotta talk with the doc.

Nose flow

I did a search to answer the same problem. I have some luck with a small smeer of Carmex lib balm under my nose a few minutes before singing. it's invisible and works pretty well.
As for exercise...well, my ID says it all. After racing all over the country for over ten years plus a few in Italy,I can tell you that bicycling scoops up a good amount of pollen and other goodies. Flonase and Allegra a good combo. No dope feeling if you take it before bed. Sleep well too.

to clear the sinuses, forget the mustard...

use WASABI!

your head is instantly clear.

As for allergies, I use and love Claritin. I haven't noticed it having a strong effect on my listening, versus like a sudafed or benadryl.

I have a similar thing :(

Post nasal drip. For years...

And, like 3 months ago, it starts f@K¢iNg with my ears...
I still can work, but, I'm never 100% sure of what I'm doing...

I'm gonna see a Otorhynolaryngoligist (dunno if it'S called this way in english!) on wednesday!

This time of year is the worse for me. Whatever I'm allergic to is blooming here in Ga. and it gives me fits. What's worse is this is also the busiest time of year for the group I sing with. I've found that the best thing for me to do is just stay inside as much as possible. We have two air cleaners in the house that filter out all pollen and mold. I also put a special HEPA filter in my air conditioner. As long as I stay inside a couple of days before a booking I usually do alright.

If you eat honey from bees eating pollen from plants that are native to the area that you live in you`ll have fewer allergic reactions.

hot mustard, wasabi, horseradish, hot curry, a lot of ginger, or capsaicin-containing peppers (hot peppers of any kind, basically) help clear sinuses.

if you dry out your sinuses, you might have crap stuck in them. try drinking a whole crapload of water-this helps the mucus flow, rather than stick. when it flows, it gets out of the way, sweeping out allergens and whatnot.

Ok, to review-

1) Excercise and eat well

2) Wasabi

3) Honey from Bees that have pollenated in your area

4) Get an operation

5) Shots

6) Claritin

7) Flonase

8) Lots of water and hot peppers

9) Hermetically (sp?) sealed studio with HEPA filters

10) No feathers in your bedding, go synthetic.

I've been eating better, walking more, just started Claritin, now I'm gonna change the bedding and start drinking more water while downing hot peppers

Thanks everybody

Chris

sjoko what exact ops did you get? As they are trying to ditch all my infections (LONG stupid story, went from a super active pro frestyler to overweight couch bum, from infections), they have found a deviated septum and many other injuries you would expect from a life of BMX and skateboards. Right now my ear drums are being sqeezed like jumping out of an airplane, they say getting my tonsils out will clear that, but they are also giving me an option for "uvula reduction" "turbinectomy" and fixing the deviated septum thing....are those what you had done?

my hearing has gone screwier and screwier since they rtook me off antibiotics
