You might have problems if you plan on go far with that name though..Here's why:
http://www.peek-a-boo.info/

ain't that some ish....the funny thing is I own a commercial cleaning business by the name of Peek-A-Boo Cleaning Co......Iowned it for years now.....damn bastards.....I shoulda trademarked or copyrighted the name years ago........................
Peek-A-Boo Muzik......Peek-A-Boo Entertainment..................
Peek-A-Boo Enterprise(s)......hmmmmmmm,I wonder???????

................................one....................................

Oh yeah,I'll keep posted......thanks in advance.......

You might have to go the route we took.Though we are Clubhouse Records. Some old ass amish singing group copyrighted that name.So we copyrighted "Clubhouse Records 22".22 is the age when our CEO started the company.Just add a extra letter or number to it with a smooth twist to it though..........one.....

that's actually a good idea.....now I gotta brainstorm to make it smooth......

.............one...........

Hey........what about if the credit said Produced by Boo ..................
"For Peek-A-Boo Productions".......get it ...........the NAME is
actually "For Peek-A-Boo Productions" instead of just "Peek-A-Boo Productions"............I dunno

;)

Looks good. what program would i use to make stuff like that?

Hi_D_Ho_Man...

I'd guess you can use any decent vector or raster program like adobe illustrator, photoshop, correl draw, etc. You may even be able to eek something out in a heavy-duty layout program like freehand (as opposed to quark express) because freehand handles filters and the like really well (for the textured text).

There are other ways to make text effects using user-generated tricks, but that's a whole 'nother thing. If you've got access to a 3-D program, you could do stuff like that in there too, using bump maps for grain and the like. That's probably way more than you're asking for...

There are "lesser" programs that you can do some cool things with, too... If you're just starting out and have no access to any of those programs I mentioned, check for some shareware utilites. A few of them are really cool. What platform you computing on?

DJ Fingaz...

All things considered, I think your design skills are decent enough (based on the little bit of stuff I've seen). It's nice work...

My 2 cents:
The tricky thing with the Armageddon thing you did is trying to find a way to make such a tired, cliched word (or phrase, or whatever) look not so tired, cliched, etc... One question: If the group is anti-governement, why is the logo in the shape of a crucifix? I don't see the correlation. I mean, I understand the armageddon/crucifix/christianity thing, but I miss the government connection. Makes me think more along the lines of doomsday, not anarchy...

Just trying to feel where you're coming from and telling you what I think... I hope you don't get bug on me, I only responded cuz you asked...

Flo' Dolo

Thanks for ya feedback flo-dolo.About the band. They style is rap/rock.They address issues such as christianity, government, war, and doomsday.Thats their music. They got that rage against the machine vibe.I'm kind of skeptical about the design fitting their image though.I wanted to lean towards a more edgey design but when I shot them some roguh drafts. This is the direction they led me in.I design with all programs you can name. All of adobe, coraldraw.I got hella skills son.I'm in charge of internet design & promotions for Clubhouse Records .*I designed that site*.I got lots of positive feedback from graphic forums. The reason I posted it on here is because I wanted to see what hip-hop feedback I can get (Since I am hip-hop).Did I understand you correctly.Did you say the text looked tired?Nah,I don't think so.The band loved it.Now,if you wanna see something a lil more serious.Lemme know...I'm a design addict...Holla atcha man...............I'll always appreciate feedback from a fellow designer that hip-hop:D ..1-love

For the record....

Flo'dolo...You'll never be able to fukked with me on the design tip ;) ...

Thats coming with a positive attitude.....1-love

Dear Mr. Fingaz...

I got you now about the band. And for the record, I didn't at all say the design looked tired, I said "The tricky thing with the Armageddon thing you did is trying to find a way to make such a tired, cliched word (or phrase, or whatever) look not so tired, cliched, etc... "
The key thing is the word "armageddon" can easily be considered cliched (when pertaining to music, art, etc). I think I said your gfx was "nice work."

Sure I'd love to see some more "serious" stuff (not sure what serious means in this context, but ok...). I'll dig around for some shit and email it to you - i'd love to talk shop, the only thing I love more than design is video post & fx and music, of course.

That's great you've learned to use lots of software, I learned years ago that the best artists (or at least the most adept) are able to use whatever tools best fit the job (learned that shit real quick-like in the 3-d animation game). In fact, I use Deneba's Canvas for a lot of shit just cuz it's such a thorough swiss-army knife piece of software.

I'll PM you with my email address, and if you do the same, then we can break bread and shit. I'll include links to several websites I've designed and a few I've coded and designed & mix it up from the smaller, more lattitudinally creative stuff to the more personally restrictive commercial stuff. I'll check out that link you posted, too...

BTW - we can bang graphic swords whenever you want to. ;)
All things being reasonably equal, you may be really dope, able to hold your own. That's phat. For real. So can I. That's the beauty of things, duke, we can all be ill... Well, ok, not all of us, but enough of us :D ;)
I've been photoshopping (amongst other things) since version 2-point-something back in the latest of the 80s or early 90 or some shit. In fact, I still use PS3 quite a bit on an older machine I have. I even remember the first html editors (back when it was still easier to longhand everything). Damn, I was a baby back then...

until then, grip...

One,

F.D.
