I don't know if any of you know the German Music Store www.musicstore.de ut they have their own budget mics, called Fame.

They sell their Fame small diaphragm condensors for 100€ for 2 !! I mean, even Behringer asks 100€ for just one small diaphragm, and the Fame mics claim to be manufactured in Europe...

My question: How is this freaking possible????

Fame, "Nien! It's mine!" is just his line

Um........ the mics are pieces of shit?

even still, how can they get the money for the components and the working hours?

Anyway, Have ever of you ever used those mics?

I rest my case. You're probably right they are shitty, but I think 'cheap is bad' is the right mentality.

Baby, remember my name..

They could be:

1. Seconds (mics of another manufacturer either with a visual flaw or who do not meet that manufacturer's specs)

2. Overstocks (mics that the manufacturer or distributor thought that they were going to sell but couldnt and want to clear the warehouse space)

3. Discontinueds (mics for which the manufacturer is no longer going to sell but they still have some stock in process but not enough to still be advertizing.

In either case they are mics that the manufacturer is willing to sell for less than cost because the alternative is just junking them...but they do not want their name on them.

Hey BrettB, I wonder who makes them? Post a picture of them.

I also wonder how they sound?

They are electret mics, they may have a $1 electret capsule in shich case they could be made for a couple of dollars. For the same kind of money you could have a pair of electrets from a 'real' manufacturer like audio technica.
